Who Do You Celebrate?

If I had the power to choose who to be amongst all the humans of the planet...

I would choose to be Myself.

Because Myself and I have been together for long enough to appreciate and enjoy our company.

Because we’ve conquered enough battles to feel proud of our achievements.

And now we celebrate them.

Because we’ve danced, loved and discovered enough to understand we’re worth our time and consideration.

And we have so much fun together.

And we’ve known each other deep enough to understand our needs.

Being oneself is complex. Being oneself is messy.

It seems like knowing oneself is a natural thing when in reality, it is a never ending process of discovery that takes trust and courage.

Because we’re more mysterious than we think.

And it is therefore that, the more we know and understand ourselves, the bigger the consideration grows.

The easier it gets to treat ourselves with kindness and gentleness.

I do believe that loving oneself is the epitome of love.

That means we accept ourselves just as we are...In the same way we would do to others without blinking.

Loving is not easy at times, but it’s always worthy.

So dear Valentine, we need an update in the way you throw your arrows.

In this atypical February, let’s celebrate love coming from within.

Let’s celebrate ourselves.
