Minième for My Illustrated Thoughts - Marta Gèpe, 2023
Before I decided to focus entirely on personalised illustrations for weddings, I have worked in different and varied projects that shaped my visual style. Here’s a selection of the most relevant projects I’ve been involved in:
In my personal projects, I use storytelling as a cathartic tool to laugh at the life anecdotes I would find difficult to process otherwise. This personal project was born from the need to process the whirlwind of events we didn’t expect when we moved to Lisbon, a few months ago. From not having electricity in the new flat to dealing with the Portuguese administration, this new chapter proved to begin as a real tragicomic adventure.
During my time working with By Adushka, I created soulful Addi —the brand’s ambassador and main character. Her world is full of scenes that portray the essence of this luxury fashion brand focused on sustainability. This project helped me find my narrative and visual storytelling, what I loved the most was recreating their designs with my own style!
My digital artwork is focused on telling a message, not only explicitly —as you can see in the vignettes of ‘Feria de Sevilla’, or my collaboration with The Mentor Training, but also implicitly —using a careful selection of the colour palette and scene setting.
