Friday.
Wake up again before my alarm (what??). Stay a bit longer, though. Booze the alarm, meditate and head down for my herbal tea.
Get changed, jeans and t-shirt. No make-up for now.
It’s pretty early, so I have plenty of time to dive into my watercolours at ease. I want to imagine how children might be doing in confinement… in one of these London sunny days in the garden. A scene comes to my mind. Let’s see what comes out. As I’m drawing I can see they have very distinguished personalities, so I also make a small dialogue between the siblings. Even give them names: Lily, James and Beth.
I like them. They’re very sweet.
I think I’ll frame this drawing whenever I have the chance. I really like it. Not a bad start for my Friday. Morning watercolours are something definitely worth exploring.
Random Playlist Gregory Porter’s ‘Phoenix’. I’ve always liked Gregory Porter and it’s been a long time since I didn’t listen to him. I love the song. Helps lifting the spirits thinking that we’re all burning phoenixes getting ready to rise from the ashes.
Let’s rise, girl.
London is up and down today, though. Rain, clouds and sun chasing each other in the sky like Lily, James and Beth. I have a look at the trees… they’re even leafier than last week. Full bright green right in front of my eyes. Hadn’t noticed. What a great view for a wishy washy-weather day.
Uh. Haven’t eaten breakfast yet. Sort the watercolours out and prepare the desktop to get on with work. Bump into Chaendler on my way to the kitchen. He’s just back from the supermarket with plenty of whole foods and fresh fruit. It seems he’s taking his new diet very serious. Who would’ve said it two months ago.
Oh well, who would’ve said two months ago we would be in confinement, really. Back then we thought the school would be up and running regardless of any virus. We never closed for a snow-day, how on Earth were we going to close for a bloody virus?
Heh.
Welcome May. Still the same around here. Nicer trees though. No pressure but I think the world has high hopes on you… just saying.
I’m pretty curious to see how we get to June, 1st.
Finish work and get on writing. I’m not feeling very hungry today so I carry on until 17:00 and make a big bundle of random stuff I have left in the fridge and the freezer. This randomness is a red flag that I really need to do the shop. As I’m eating I think of all the things I really need and write them on a list. Uh yes. Tomorrow shopping day. Set already the alarm in case I regret afterwards.
Saturday wake up call, 7:15 (auch…).
Speak to Hideki, we set a plan of action for our new project and catch up on how we’ve been during the week. Well, it seems we’ve had intensity going on.
What’s with the vibes, world?
I’m glad it’s Friday. I feel it’s a ‘whatever’ evening so I go with the flow. Check up on dad because it’s been a week we haven’t spoken. He’s been in intensity mode too: after a week of immersion in a Titanic miniature he’s had in a box for more than 20 years, he conquered the battle against time and the miniature looks pretty good.
We hang up and I decide to celebrate Friday and May Day.
Get changed and wear those leopard jeans I bought on January sales ‘special for concerts’. No concerts but confinement partying for now. Make-up and red lippy on. It’s a Glam night at The Queen’s Room Social Club. Glass of wine in hand and plenty of randomness in Random Playlist. Mabel, MisterWives, Fleetwood Mac, Abba, The Cure.
Let’s dance.
End up going to bed pretty late but dancing was required. Tomorrow’s lazy Saturday after apocalyptical shopping so not much bothered.
I’m pretty ready for tomorrow’s adventure time (if I manage to get up on time).
